Listed below are links to studies and organizations that provide guidelines for medical professionals to use.  Be mindful that these are only guidelines -- a physician and patient may choose to be more or less aggressive depending on their own risk/benefit analysis.

Cancer screening guidelines (American Cancer Society)

U.S. Preventative Services Task Force -- Recommendations from an independent panel of experts in primary care and prevention that systematically reviews the evidence of effectiveness and develops recommendations for clinical preventive services.

National Guideline Clearinghouse -- a public resource for evidence-based clinical practice guidelines, and my favorite site for clearly showing the most recent updates.

The Cochrane Library -- evidence for healthcare decision-making

Natural Standard -- fantastic site that objectively grades evidence of natural therapies. ID: vitamins password: supplements

Cholesterol treatment guidelines (NCEP - ATP III)

Hypertension (JNC 7)

Stroke prevention -- an incredible compilation of all completed and ongoing trials regarding stroke
